I am now busily preparing the lay-outs for the book, along with art director Jonas Larsson. The book will have lots of previously unpublished photos and documents. I have uncovered several new facts about what went on behind the scenes among politicians and civil servants during the early sixties when Radio Nord was a hotly contested “pirate” radio station.
I do hope that these new facts will cause a bit of a stir, and preferably some debate, about the strong-arm tactics that were used to stop Radio Nord.
But we wont know about that until September, do we?
I will also be travelling to the Swedish town of Norrköping on May 8th, 2009 to join a panel of former Radio Nord employees and artists of the time for a nostalgic remembrance of the station.
I am also – still! – working alongside Johan Sköld on a film documentary about Radio Nord. That project has been going on and off for several years, but only yesterday when we looked it through we were very quite happy. So it might be finished in the not too distant future. Of course, then there remains the vital question on where and when it will be distributed. We are certainly not sure whether any TV networks in Sweden or abroad will be interested, or if we can sell it as a DVD to the select few who might be.
More to come on this subject.
